DOING MEANINGFUL WORK

July 24, 2026 by Obinna

DOING MEANINGFUL WORK

When Adam Smith, the father of modern-day Economics, theorised on the division of labour, one of the popular criticisms was that work begins to lose meaning the moment workers are not responsible for the end-to-end process of production. While there are many merits to Smith's theory, meaning, stands out as a core reason why people work.

Friend, are you doing something meaningful? Mind you, meaning is whatever you say it is. But being able to find a meaning or purpose to your work, is the easiest way to wake up happy on a work day.
