THE TWO-PRONGED POWER OF VISIBILITY

THE TWO-PRONGED POWER OF VISIBILITY

Be visible. This is one of the most powerful career advice you can get. Being visible is being known for the work you do in your company or industry; it is becoming a known brand.

Visibility is powerful. It opens doors to you long before you knock. It makes you recognizable among your peers and leaders, giving you that first introduction you may need. However, being visible comes with it's cons. For example, because you are recognizable immediately, you are often judged by a higher standard than others. People tend to expect excellence from you naturally.

My advice on this is simple: be visible, be responsible. Manage your visibility consciously. Knowing that you're known should be an added incentive to stand tall. Stay visible my friend. Cheers.
